VI Chemical Peels

How Does a VI Chemical Peel Work?

A VI peel is a treatment from Vitality Institute that will clear your skin and restore its natural beauty. This treatment improves your skin texture and tone. It removes/reduces sun damage and age spots and will make scars and wrinkles less noticeable.

A VI peel is a subdermal peel, meaning it enters the subdermal part of the skin. This portion is more profound than what you see on the surface, but it does not go deep enough to where it might impact your nerves or deeper blood vessels.

VI chemical peels raise the skin’s acidity to help clear off dead skin. The process helps loosen cells that keep the dead skin cells attached to the healthy cells. The effort also triggers the production of new and healthy skin cells to replace the dead ones that it clears. The effects provide long-lasting results.

Benefits Of a VI Chemical Peel

• A VI peel will trigger collagen production, improving the skin’s texture while reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

• A VI peel also clears acne and scarring from old acne deposits. The cleansing formula the VI peel uses keeps acne under control while preventing inflammation.

• Patients with sunspots, melasma, or hyperpigmentation will also benefit from a VI peel. The treatment clears old skin cells that might cause spots or discolored features.

What is the VI Chemical Peel Process?

1. Your skin first undergoes cleansing to clear off bacteria and dirt. The cleansing is necessary for proper product penetration and effectiveness.

2. A practitioner will evenly apply the material and let it settle on the skin.

3. The time necessary to let the peel settle will vary. Expect to spend a few minutes with the material while it adjusts the pH level in the skin.

4. After applying Peel, the practitioner will review the at-home kit and daily instructions for optimal results.

What to Expect After the Peel

  • Avoid sun exposure and being tan, both before, during the peeling process, and after the Peel.
  • If you get cold sores regularly, have a skin infection, or have any other skin sensitivities in past medical history, let your provider know before treatment.
  • If you have an allergy to aspirin or phenol, are pregnant or breastfeeding, you CANNOT get this procedure done.
  • Do not do “waxing” 10 days before, and no shaving of the treatment area 48 hours before the treatment.
